What is a Personal Chef?
Personal Chefs are a relatively new branch of the professional foodservice industry. Our goal is to provide you with palate-specific meals that you can come home to and enjoy when it's convenient for you.
By custom designing each menu to your individual requirements, your Personal Chef can ensure that each meal is delightful, satisfying and tailored to your dietary needs.
All meals are prepared in the safety of your kitchen, with fresh ingredients selected and purchased by your Personal Chef the morning of the cook date, providing you with the best quality and highest achievable level of food safety.
By having delicious meals to come home to, you will have more available time for family or recreation, better quality food than commercially frozen entrées, and the feeling that you are "eating right" for your health. And the best part is: having a Personal Chef isn't just for the rich and famous anymore. In fact, most Personal Chef clients are regular, time starved professionals and families.
In Texas most foods that are resold must either be prepared in a commercially licensed and inspected kitchen, or prepared in the client's home. By cooking in your kitchen, personal chefs use the same environment that you use when you cook for your family - so you have all the assurances of quality.
Yes, and no. A Caterer usually prepares the food offsite and delivers it to your home or the location of your function. Many personal chefs also offer catering services, but it does require the use of a commercially licensed kitchen or that the food be prepared in your home.
If your needs can be met by one of my standard packages, then the current price is listed there, based on the time it takes me to plan, shop for, prepare and package your meals. If you need a different quantity of meals, we'll discuss your custom pricing when we meet. In addition to the service fee, you pay for the groceries, and that cost will vary depending on your menu. Just like when you go to the grocery store, when you want filet mignon and fresh lobster, your bill will be higher than when you want mac and cheese. You also pay for packaging, which we'll determine when we meet to discuss your needs. When you figure the time involved for menu planning and shopping on top of the actual cooking, and you'll see that you are "buying" much more than just the food itself - you're adding time back in your life, and the satisfaction of knowing you've got fresh, delicious homemade meals waiting for your whenever you want them!
Typically I come in during the day while you're at work, school or busy with other obligations. Often my clients don't even know I've been there, except for the refrigerator full of good food and wonderful aromas left behind.
Absolutely! In some cases an additional fee may apply if there is a substantial amount of extra work that must be done to research, shop for or prepare your meals. I regularly cook for clients with food allergies, sensitivities, diet or other special needs.
Absolutely! They make great gifts, especially for those folks who are tough to buy for. Absolutely no one in this day and age would not appreciate the gift of time.
Schedule permitting, I do small dinner parties and other events.
Yes, you can always request any of the above as part of your regular meal service or as add-ons, schedule permitting.
